Meet Your Team.
Callum Edwards (Co-founder, Your Performance Nutritionist)
The quote “We have 3 choices, you can change it, you can leave it, or you can accept it” feels particularly relevant for the problems I saw with performance nutrition in professional football.
Back in 2018, when I first entered professional football, I was expecting unlimited nutrition support from clubs – a case which is only true for some.
Since then, I have worked with professional cricketers, Olympians/Paralympian’s and Tour De France/professional road cyclists.
Here is a snapshot of my experience:
5 years at Blackburn Rovers F.C.
3.5 years at Lancashire County Cricket Club
2.5 years at GB cycling (Olympic/Paralympic)
Current position at Uno-X cycling (Norwegian Pro cycling team)
The problems mentioned are certainly not unique to footballers. I’ve seen them in every sport I have worked in.
However, within football, problems can be more readily solved. It’s just about which battle you choose to change, leave or accept.
During my time at Blackburn Rovers F.C. as Lead Performance Nutritionist, I had many players coming to myself and Pinny (Pinder, Co-founder) with the same problem. A problem which was too common to simply accept.
The problem I kept hearing from even our most senior players?
How to eat well and know what to cook outside of the training ground, which meets all of the nutrition requirements I need to perform, recover and meet my body composition goal.
Okay, it wasn’t worded quite like that, but you get the point.
I was usually left with 2 options. Refer to a meal prep service (The retention of this was poor due to multiple reasons) or simply provide recipes.
A personal performance chef was out of the question for many reasons e.g. very high cost and the drawbacks attached.
And this is why myself and Pinny (Head Chef) teamed up to create Pinder & Edwards.
The only comprehensive and ultra-high quality service which bridges the gap between meal prep and a personal performance chef.

Dave Pinder (Co-Founder, Your Personal Performance Chef)
My name is David Pinder, but family and friends know me as Pinny.
I never intended to be a chef, but for the last 23 years that is exactly what I have been.
At 18 and doing a GNVQ (Going nowhere very quick) I found myself asking, is this what I really want to do? So, I left my art course to earn some money instead, pot washing!
Unbeknownst to me, this led to the next 23 years.
So here we are, setting up a bespoke food business for high performing footballers and athletes, with my friend and business partner Callum Edwards.
Working with professional footballers for the last 5 years, I have gained a very good understanding of what they require to fuel their bodies, allowing them to perform to the best of their abilities on match day and beyond.
Nutrition is a key factor for all professional sports people for them marginal gains, which could be the fine line between winning and losing. In an ideal world, we'd all have time to select, buy, prep and cook a meal made with whole foods, and have the knowledge to ensure we're getting the complete nutrition we need. But this is unfortunately not always possible, especially when we're on the go or in a rush. This is where Pinder & Edwards come in.
With my passion for cooking, attention to detail and nutritional knowledge, I knew this had the potential for the foundations of delivering outstanding food, which not only would deliver on taste, but would also deliver on nutrition.
10 months later, I am excited to finally say that Pinder & Edwards is no longer a pipe dream, and now a reality.
Thanks for your future support.
